Terms of Service

1. The license

CapDrop is sold as a one-time $19 perpetual ("lifetime") license. One license key activates the software on up to 2 personal computers that you own or primarily use. The license is non-transferable.

All future updates to CapDrop on the same major track are included in your license at no additional charge.

2. Permitted use

• Personal use (any) and business use (any size) are both allowed.
• You may use captures, exports, and outputs commercially.
• You may install on a new PC after deactivating an old one from the license portal.

3. Restrictions

• No reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the application.
• No redistribution, resale, or sublicensing of the software or your license key.
• No sharing of your license key with people outside your immediate household.
• No circumvention of the trial period or license validation.

3a. Content you capture is your responsibility

CapDrop captures what is already visible on your own screen. It does not, and will not, bypass, crack, strip, or otherwise circumvent digital rights management (DRM) or copy protection — DRM-protected video players and reader apps capture as a blank/black frame by design.

You agree to use CapDrop only on content you own or otherwise have the legal right to capture and keep — for example DRM-free e-books and PDFs you purchased, your own documents and slide decks, and recordings or courses you are licensed to retain. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable copyright law and the terms of the content you capture.

4. Payment and Merchant of Record

Payments are processed by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the Merchant of Record. Polar handles billing, sales tax (VAT/GST/etc.), and chargebacks on our behalf. Your statement will show a charge from Polar, not from CapDrop.

See our Refund Policy at /refunds. Short version: 7-day no-questions-asked, processed in 2-3 business days.

6. Warranty disclaimer

CapDrop is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CapDrop and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or business interruption. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the license in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

You may stop using CapDrop at any time. We may terminate your license if you materially breach these terms (e.g., redistributing the app) — in such case, no refund is owed.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Seoul, Republic of Korea, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country provides otherwise.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced at capdrop.app and via email to license holders at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
