Changelog
Last updated: May 28, 2026
Public release history of CapDrop. Every license includes all future updates on the same major track.
0.2.0 — May 28, 2026
- License system — Polar-issued lifetime keys, 2-PC activation limit, deactivation via customer portal.
- 7-day trial — local trial state with multi-layer abuse protection (machine ID, registry mirror, clock-rollback detection).
- Watermark — applied to captures after the trial expires; removed instantly when a license is activated.
- UX polish — Region-capture no longer resurfaces the main window (industry-standard behavior, matches Snipping Tool / Snagit). Floating bubble now rides above other always-on-top apps (Zoom, Discord, OBS).
- History — drag-rectangle multi-select, keyboard shortcuts (Delete / Esc / Ctrl+A), de-duplication on load.
- Hotkey recorder — fixed Shift-combo detection (Ctrl+Shift+1/2/3 now record correctly).
- Language picker — defaults to English on first run for international users.
- autoKey persistence — selecting an auto-press key in the UI now correctly persists to settings (fixes a regression where the global hotkey path read the stale value).
